Her story

Experience that includes the difficult parts

Drawing on firsthand experience raising more than $18 million and building businesses through growth, setbacks, and reinvention.

I began my career in the corporate world at AML Foods, working in human resources, training, and development. I later stepped out in faith to co-operate a business, taking on the uncertainty and responsibility that come with ownership.

That journey took me into maritime logistics, business development, and concrete manufacturing. It exposed me to the realities of building teams, launching operations, pursuing opportunities, forming partnerships, and finding the resources to keep moving.

As President and CEO of Fowlco Maritime & Project Services and founder of Heroic Group, I have led companies in logistics, freight, and concrete manufacturing across The Bahamas. That has included launching Fowlco Express air freight from Grand Bahama to Treasure Cay, Abaco, designing our own import/export software, SailMate, breaking ground on a $6.4 million concrete plant in Freeport, and opening a facility with DHL Global Forwarding.

“I am no longer intimidated or trying to fit in. I am now ok with standing out!”

I have experienced success. I have also made mistakes, faced setbacks, and had to reconsider decisions I once believed were right.

Some of my most valuable lessons came from those difficult experiences.

I learned that an opportunity can be promising while the timing is wrong. That a business can grow faster than its people, systems, or capital can support. That partners can share an ambition without sharing expectations. And that determination needs to be supported by preparation, honest information, and a workable business model.

Through Next Point, I bring those lessons into the room.

My purpose is to help other owners ask better questions, recognise potential pitfalls, and approach their next decision with greater clarity.
